1941 Ford Convertible Top Cylinders

The 41 conv had two electric motors to raise and lower the top. I guess you could fit cylinders in and get a hydraulic pump to run them

Try Hydro E lectric (I thinks that how the name is spelled. They are in florida. I got some for my 48 from them many moons ago, they work perfect.

I don't have a address or telephone #, try Hemmings for that or try Google.

Found the web site http://hydro-e-lectric.com

Hi,
i have a 41 convt and my electric top works well all i do is oil them once a year.
Here is a little information on top motors. Ford only made the electrics for two years, 41 and 42. Neither years are identical, but they are interchangeable.
If you go hydraulic, be advised that the motor and pump will show in your firewall,so expect to lose points if you go with the originals, i can take you step-by-step of restoration.
If you still have your originals, i would be interested in buying them. Good luck on your 41.

I have a pair of '41 Ford conv top electric lift units.. I adapted them to raise the deck lid on my '36 Ford coupe about 57 years ago. I do not intend to take them off of the car, however, if someone needs a picture of what they look like I will be glad to some pictures.
I used the stock wiring harness and switch, which is a self cancelling push/pull switch.

Hi
yes i would like a picture of your 41 ford elect.top motor you installed in your trunk that sonds like a real good idea my trunk and hood requires two men and a boy to open them and keep them open all of the way.
Thank you.

Any chance you could send a picture of the way that the mechanism instaled to raise and lower the 41 top. The car I bought was totally disassembled and I don't even know if I have all the parts. I have the screw motors and the top frame. Thanks, ==AL== almauldin@msn.com
