1941 Flathead Ford Sedan

My husband bought a 1941 Ford Sedan but discovered the flathead engine has a cracked block. He needs to know if a transmission from a 59A-b flathead engine will bolt to a 50 to 53 8RT or so engine. And, will the length be the same to put back into the 1941 Ford since it has an enclosed drive shaft. HELP!
