1940 wheel backspacing?

Anyone know what the stock 40 ford wheel had for backspacing? did a search but came up empty thanks!

I am having the same problem. I need new wheels and I can not figure out about the backspacing. Hope someone can help the both of us.

Fellas, I don't have an exact answer but if you realize that the stock 40 rim was only 4 inches wide, the backspacing was likely about 2-2.5 inches at most. I'm sure a knowledgable fellow will help out with a real answer soon. I'll check my real 40 Ford rim as soon as I can get to the garage if nobody chimes in soon. Al

The wheel measures 5 1/4" from lip to lip. The inside is 4". Backspacing by my calculation is 3 3/8". Front spacing is 1 7/8". I included pic of back of wheel so real 40 guys can confirm or deny that it is a 40 wheel as I can't guarantee it. Hope this helps. Al

Al, Thats Great! Looks like Wheel Vintiques is making a wheel with specs very close to this. anyone using the Wheel Vintiques wheel?
