I found rod bearings but no luck finding .030 under main bearings, maybe someone out there will be able to find them and send me an e-mail

I'll check this weekend. I know I've got 40 main bearings, but not sure about 030. Will e-mail you. Jack

Did you try all the sources that were mentioned earlier in this post? You might want to give Reds Hamilton a try. This is the guy that once owned Reds Headers. I believe I saw a recent ad in the Early Ford Club V8 Times classifieds where he is selling misc. parts for Flathead's. Probably from his old stash of parts that he kept after selling his business.

I'll also take a look in my old stash of V860 parts. I had once bought a 60hp Hydroplane engine and it came with all kinds of extra rebuild parts. Don't remember exactly what I do have. It's a long shot but I'll take a look anyway.

Here is 2 other places to try. (Stacy Brown--Texas 817-275-2381) and another. (lester Harris--Menden Nevada) I don't have Lesters no. right now, I can get it tomorrow. Walt

Wayne, Here is what I found in my stash of bearings that came with a 1940 60 hp V8 hydroplane engine that I bought years ago.

2 sets of #MB 0280 G .030 US Main brgs, w/locking tangs, w/o flanges, Semi-Finished, one large oil hole in each half, Unknown Mfg. (were not in a box), markings on brgs: MB 0280 G Resizable .030 US

Hi John I've called every name posted . Roger Nelson was the only one I could not get in touch with. When you say semi finished are those the type of bearings that you install in the block and then line bore to size. I found a set of them in Mich. but nobody aroud here seems to have an old machine that acurate enough, nowdays they line bore then hone to size. Thanks for you help and to everyone else who has responded. Wayne
