1940 Pickup seat question

Hello all. Is there a difference between the seat in a 1940 pickup, and the seats in a 1938/39 pickup? Thanks everyone for your time and help.

I love the 40/41 PU above all Ford Pickups. Unfortunately the seating is alittle cramped, especially if your ove 5 foot 8". The only cure is after market. Gets even worsr=e in the 33/34's.

I agree Ron, Its cramped. The only thing that i ran across was that 42-47 seat brackets were different. The 40/41 seat had a different bracket on the back of the cab and also the lower seat spring assy was mounted on a 3/4 inch plywood as opposed to a frame assy on the 42-47 seat. Since the gas tank is under the seat in a 42-47, and the 40/41 1/2 ton is in the rear, the seat riser is smaller. Correct me if i'm wrong.. I would think that a 38-41 would be the same but 42-47 is different.Ken

Ron, I own a '34 and a '41....and I'm 6'4", 250lbs. ...way big for these little trucks but I love 'em. To me, the '41 is actually roomy!

I've had a couple of '40 Ford pu's, I own one now. I am 6' 6" tall-281 lbs, I have more head room in my '40 by far than any of my other cars, new or old. Leg room isn't great, but not terrible..just means I have to stop occassionally on longer trips and stretch the legs, but I do that with anything I own. I have the original seat, which I just replaced the plywood base on. Can't help with the question about the '38's, and '39's.

My friend has a Model A. He's over 6" and doesn't fit in the stock seat so we put it on sliders and now he has plenty of room. BUT the back seat leg room is gone.
