What are some of the best books/magazine etc that you guys have found for researching parts and stock "locations" of parts. I always find it hard to determine location of things like brake lines and such. Looking to rebuild as close to "stock" as possible. Thanks

Pictured are 3 books I've found helpful in working on my 1940 1/2 Ton Commercial. The first is pricey but well worth the investment. Lots of exploded views on various assemblies. The second book is great for part numbers on body parts peculiar to commercial vehicles. The third book deals strictly with commercial vehicles and has a few diagrams of where things go. The last picture is one such diagram. All books are available from V-8 vendors. Good Luck With Your Project! Dennis/Arkansas

Brendan is absolutely correct. First and foremost are members of this forum. It's been my experience that they will go above and beyond the call of duty in offering technical advice and even a little hand-holding when required. Dennis/Arkansas
this is a good place to start!

Thanks everyone...I was just introduced to this site after going to a 40 ford show in anaheim,ca. Thanks to the two old timers who took the time to talk to me. I realize that there is information out there but everything costs more than seems fair. Guess thats life. Keep the advice coming. Thanks again
