Hope some of you can help on this question. A friend of mine has a 1940
Lincoln Zephyr coupe, it's a driver, not a show car. What parts on the front
end is Ford? He want's to change the front axle to a dropped axle(ya..I know). What about the king pins and the other related parts? Any help
or direction would be appreciated(too get him out of my shop).

Thanks, Dudley

Tell him to get a Lincoln & a Ford Parts Book, he can cross reference the part numbers to see which will interchange. I just did a lot of front end work on our '39 LZ and bushings, etc. all have part numbers that work with Ford & Merc. I recommend buying all the parts from Ford, not Lincoln parts dealers, if he wants to save money.

If he installs a Ford axle in the Lincoln, he'd better use the Ford spindles as well, as the Lincoln has a different king pin inclination angle than the Ford. Mixing spindles and axles across the two lines results in incorrect camber angle.. That angle can be corrected by using the FoMoCo "brute force" method of bending the axle. He may wish to do that though so that he can retain his Bendix front brakes.
