1940 License Plates

State

Idaho

I'm trying to collect license plates from all 50 states that were produced in 1940. Doing pretty good but I'm short 9 of them. Alabama, Alaska, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and South Carolina. I know Alaska and Hawaii were not part of the states in 1940 but would still like to have them also.

Just a bump!

Wow that's quite a collection.I thought about starting a collection myself, but have resisted the urge.Does Idaho allow you to use a license plate the same year as your car?

Just part of being a 40 nut and owner of my coupe for 45+ years. They do, it's called the year of manufacture plate.

Are you interested in this kind of plate. Florida issues new metal plates every six years. I have 4 to go. Thanks JIM
