Hello !

Q: Can you use a 1940 Ford truck frame for a 1940 Ford sedan body ?
I know the frames are the same, what I am concerned about is the
body to frame hole locations. I know the truck frame needs the 4 outer-frame body mounts 2 on each side, but did Ford drill all the holes to except
all the bodies rather it be truck, sedan, coupe.( Or does anyone know how to get a frame diagram this would also be helpfull)
I bought a super clean truck frame and need to replace a not so nice sedan frame. All comments welcome, THANKS CR.

One thing to look out for is the shallow front crossmembers they used on the 6 clyinder trucks if you are going to install a v8....wescotts diagram is accurate and when i did mine i compared measurements,,,if you do a trial run and but the body on the frame and line up your two bolts at the bottom of the firewall it will give you an idea...good luck,,,,gump

I used a '40 PU frame under a '39 passenger car. The holes for the side body mounts were all drilled in the rails. I just bolted them on and everything fit. The captive nuts on the X member (for the floor pan) were not there. Not a big deal at all.
