I am looking to put 15"wheels and radials on my 40. looking at wheels vintique . not sure of the back space ,they list 15x 7" with 3 3/4 back space. I want to run 215/75 on the front and 225/75 or 235/75 on rear, why tire wheel combo are you guys running ?

I am running 225/75R15 radial tires on my 40.The wheels are later model 15 inch ford.It rides and drives very good.

Be careful with backspacing if you are still using the stock shocks. Too much backspace can cause the inside of the tire to rub on the shock arm and cut into the tire. Had that happen years ago when I put some 15 inch pickup wheels on the rear of my 39 coupe.

I had 15x7 wheels with a 4 1/2" backspace with 235-75-15 tires on my 40 with a stock rear axle. Up front is stock 15" 50 Merc wheels with 205-75-15 tires. You would probably want A taller tire up front with a stock spring, I have a reversed eye spring wich lowers the car a bit. Also take note of TJs post , Im not running stock shocks on my car.

I'm using Wheel Vintiques Gennies 15x5 & 15x7 with 195/75 and 235/75 on my 41 pickup. Backspace on rear is 4in, fronts are 3.5in. Stock rear end. 4in drop axle in front.
