Unable to get the correct door gasket for my pickup. Does anybody know what the correct gasket is or which one would work the best. Nothing is listed for the upper gaskets. How are they position on the body. I know they'll be glued. The ones on right now are as hard as a (almost) a rock.

I have a 41, same cab as yours, and could not find a gasket to work on the top. I used a roll of door gasket materiel from Restoration Supply. Basically a rectacular foam rubber piece with a raised lip on one side. Seems to work good. I do not know what was "correct" for this seal or if there was one! I glued mine on the door with 3M black trim cement.

Ford did not use gaskets on the pickup doors, except for the bottom of the door for many years. I think that your pickup did not have rubber gaskets and the windlace on the door jam served this purpose.

No rubber gaskets save for the one on the bottom so, if this is a stock restoration, you are done. If, however, you want to "add" insulation similar to the cars, make sure the gasket is not too thick to the point of changing door alignment.

What I have used in the past is the 40 door post gasket and a hollow core gasket that goes on the truck cab from the upper door hinge across to the top of the rear door post point (similar tot he car). It could also be placed on the door but my experience is that the cab install lasts longer.

If for nothing else, this did cut down on the wind noise at speed.

Jerry is correct. There was no upper door seal for the 40 truck cab. The windlace acts as a seal around the door. I used the LeBaron Bonney 40 truck interior kit which came with the windlace. While not Lexus quiet, the wind noise in the cab isn't excessive at freeway speeds.
