1940 Ford electric fuel pump install

I don't have one on my 40, but do have on my 53F100. If I were to put one on a 40 I believe I would mount it on the rear crossmember [spring mount] .

I mounted mine on the underside floor step up for the rear seat, drivers side, more outboard. It's been there 12 years with no problems. Of course I made sure the fuel lines were clear of the exhaust pipes. Dan

Buy a good mechanical pump and forget the electric pump. I can let mine sit all winter and it will start up without help from an electric pump. Never has had a vapor lock.

I put a Holley blue pump and a canister filter on the rear spring cross member on my coupe and plan on doing something similiar on my convertible with a TCI frame.

I've went thru several P4070 Carters on my motorhome, and finally went to a Holley blue pump.I've not had any problems since.FWIW
