If I were to buy a 40 Ford Sedan, How hard should I look for a deluxe model over a standard, and how much price difference is there? Thanks in advance.

First off, which do you prefer? I know guys who prefer the Standard, others the Deluxe.

As far as price, how long is a piece of string? Common sense would say a Deluxe will always cost more, but generally a pristine Standard will be worth more than a rough Deluxe. Anything to do with prices will vary with where you are in the country as well.

From a scarcity standpoint, there were fewer Standards produced than Deluxes. IMHO, however, it all comes down to one's personal preferences.

I prefer the Standard. I have a tudor and a coupe. The price is relative to condition. In my opinion you buy the best sheetmetal you can find. Most times it's cheaper to buy a driver(restored or good original) than buy a project. If you buy a driver you can drive it now. If you buy a project it may be 4-5 years before you drive it, unless the project becomes your job. Do your homework and math to determine the costs of a project vs buying a running car.
