This piece was in a collection I acquired. Any ideas on what it might be? 9721623 is stamped on it but I could not locate that part #.

Yes, it holds the 2 louvered pieces together at the top that are on each side of the deluxe grille. The 3 holes on each one are where rivets originally were.

Upper Grille Brace

01A-8145-B is the Drake replacement for $125. Good luck getting that unless ..... Perfect originals come along for $25. Fred A

If you laid a straight edge along the top of that piece, is it flat or have some curve to it? One of Drakes new hood hinges dumped a rivet (not peened over enough) and the hood came down. It is not flat now but maybe it never was.

Thank you,

Fourdy

Just hoping someone can help with my previous question above? (post #4) Now would be an opportune time to repair it if necessary as I am replacing my blower motor.

Thanks,

Fourdy

I could check that for you tomorrow after the early Christmas frenzy is over. It would be good to be able to say that I have to check a measurement for a fellow 'Barner... Could take an hour or so of quiet contemplation of that part just to be sure.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Fourdy,
The piece has a flat area across the middle and the two ends raise up about 3/8ths of an inch as marked on the first picture. The other shot has a stick across the ends showing the height difference. Hope this helps,
Hunt

Thank you! That is as mine appears to be and saves me a lot of trouble. Hope you enjoyed your time in the garage. lol Cold today in mine as we have 3" of snow here in the Puget Sound area of Washington.

33 here with about 6" new Christmas snow. Cold in the garage but extended the time in the repair side of the shop where I am trying to get my 46 GMC half ton to behave itself in the new year...
