1940 Ford Dash

Realizing I have a 1941 Ford pickup dash, large Ford script plate, for 1940 I began looking for a 40 dash or just a center section for surgery. I spotted two different dashes differing where the Ford emblem is. One is flat with just the script emblem and two screws flanking it. Another, with a raised center section with the Ford scrip emblem. Is this a early late thing or is the center raised section a plate that screws on?

Not sure of the answer but, I have wondered about the same while looking at/for one of these trucks for decades before finding mine.
