1940 Ford Coupe Outside Door Handle Removal

Anyone advise me on proper way to remove outside door handle on 1940 ford coupe

It's been over 50 years since I owned a '40 Ford but as I recall there is a screw just inside the door edge that goes in at a 45 deg. angle.

That is correct just remove the screw and pull the handle out it maym be rusted so it could require a little force.
