1940 exhaust vendors?

I have a 1940 Standard Tudor that needs a front exhaust pipe and crossover. I have not been able to find any vendors that sell exhaust pipes. Does anyone know of someone who sells early V8 ehhaust parts? Thanks, Gil

I don't think the Waldrons exhaust is technically correct but that may not matter. Depends what you're looking for.

waldons were great, if not a show car have them send the tail pipe in two pieces cuts way down on shipping.

Thank you for the information. I saw their website the other day and it looked like they only sold complete systems. I called them today and found out that they do make individual pieces. I'm more concerned with function than form so if it isn't exactly like the original, it's OK.

I believe you will find their front exhaust pipe will require just a bit of "tweaking" to fit. It's close, but again, a little tweaking...

I would recommend finding a local muffler shop to do your work. I had bought some pipes that were supposed to fit But the pipe shop spent so much time making them right, it would have been cheaper to have them made up. If you have the stock column shift it is interesting to get the pipes right by the clutch and shift linkage

Do you mean heating and bending or a little finesse with a prybar or pipe? I can handle either task without a problem. We don't have anyone local with a clue to bend exhaust pipes. Shops with those skills are getting fewer and harder to find.

I had a complete exhaust (duals) installed on our '60 Ford and the guy never used a tape measure for the whole thing. He just looked at it , made a mental pic in his head and started to bend pipe. I only saw him tweak one pipe to make it fit. amazing!

Heat was required.

Yikes. You must have caught them on a bad day. I bought a stock 1940 full system from them 2 years ago and it fit like a glove. The only finesse I needed was some bicep.

When I was in high school I had a '55 Chevy and I took it to a muffler shop where they made dual exhaust pipes for it. The technician had to make two attempts on the right side tailpipe. I remember he wasn't pleased when he threw the pipe in the scrap bin. It might have helped if he used a tape measure first!

I like to use the passenger side exhaust manufold on the drivers side. 9make the adapter easy) this way the exhaust coms out the rear. We did this back in the 50's in high school.
