1940 Deluxe question for Kube,

Or other interested parties. I thought I remembered from Kube's instructions for aligning front sheet metal that there should be a bolt (apron to frame) in the hole forward of the brake line bracket. Last night I was looking @ the Early V8 Club Forums 1940 section (great stuff) & saw that same front clip alignment article (3-07-12), and then a different post about 39/40 inner aprons (1-10-12). That one states 39 aprons bolt to the frame & 40's do not---they float on the 16138 "wishbone".
Kube, what is correct? Do I bolt or not? Thanks, Bob

You'll notice on 1940 frames that the hole in the frame behind the brake hose bracket is threaded. 1/4 - 20 if I recall correctly. The extreemly authentic (unmolested) cars I have disassmebeld all had a hex head bolt, lock washer and flat washer in place there. One rubber "bumper" was inserted in the forward hole of the inner panel.
1939 had a small "L" bracket spot welded to the inner panels very near the front end. Through this bracket, the inner panel was bolted to the top, very near end of the front frame rail.
Sometime late in 1939 this "L" was removed from the production inner panels.
