1940 Convertible door mechanism?

I received the vehicle with very little of the interior parts and no door handles or mechanisms.

I have the new latches mounted on the doors ,but have no idea how the original mechanism ran to the inside door handle - can anyone help with pictures so I know what I need to find/order?

look on this web page for 40 Ford door lock . there are some photos of a closed car mech see if this helps. In the closed car the handle mech and the door lock mech are connected by a flat rod about 1" wide.
 
they mount the same flat style rod but the lock mech is all different.I bought a book from Early V8 club about the 40 history and it help me a lot
