1939 Pickup door lock question

After reading this post and being curious, i went in the garage and checked the door lock on my 38 chev. The door lock is in the driver door handle. I guess other brands had different idea's.

I've soaked mine for weeks...still no go, so may have to drill!

If you are taking it apart to be painted, take a small welding tip on a combination torch and heat the set screw up 3 or 4 times letting it cool off in between heat. Then it will come out. The screw is about 3/4" long.

But if its a finished paint job, that wont work.

Yep...finished paint job. I did not realize the length of that (hardened) screw. Think I will just forget this project :(
