1939 Ford Tudor trunk latch, missing part?

I am having trouble with mounting the trunk striker on my tudor. The car was bought in pieces. I have the Drake striker. The mounting holes do not align with the holes on the trunk. Before I grind the brace in the trunk or make a new brace am I missing a part? Does the striker mount to a missing part or are the holes in the brace wrong?

The only piece you are missing is a serrated plate that goes on the bottom of the floor plate. The serrations hold the catch in place.
That part from Drake does not appear to be correct. Your floor plate is fine. I sure would not modify the plate. Instead, I'd locate a quality part.

I was concerned about that. That brace was replaced by the previous owner along with the floorboards. He made the floorboards and they aren't right in a couple of places so I wasn't sure about those hole spacing being correct. I figured there may be apiece missing because I did see the serrationns on the bottom of the striker.

I've searched a lot and can't find the parts. It looks like trying get a modern latch like a bear claw to work.

Bill,
Hopefully someone will weigh in here with the center-to-center distance for those two holes. I don't have any sedans to measure. Sorry.

Thanks I figured something was missing. I'd assume only one company probably makes the part I have. I pictures they all look the same in pictures.

Unfortunately that is what the retailers are selling. They probably all come from the same manufacturer. I posted one ad below but they all look the same. You can see in the pic that the screw holes are about the same distance apart as mine. Certainly not 1 1/4". At least to my eye.

Sorry I can't seem to figure out how to post a full pic just a thumbnail.

Hello from San Diego (first post) I have a 1939 Tudor sedan. The distance between stock latch screws is 1.25" as stated. Here are 2 images of stock latch & catch for review. Still
work perfectly after 85+ years. also pic of my car.
