1939 Ford Pickup Grill shape question

Hi, I am restoring a 1939 Ford Pickup and have a question regarding the original shape of the Grill. See photos below, should the grill have a curved backside (red line in bottom photo) or a flat backside (blue line in bottom photo)? There is enough damage to the connecting pieces that it is not obvious which shape (curved or flat) is correct.

I would say flat because the tooling was cheaper .

just looked at two and both have a slight curve.

I have a 39 Pickup too. The grill back side is not flat, go with the red line.
