1938 ford window replacement(s)

Hi again Fellas -

I need to replace all the windows on my '38 standard tudor. My baby has been sitting in a warehouse in Milwaukee for the last 42 years. 25 years ago some kids decided that they needed playtime with breaking windows.

I can find the glass fairly easy, but lessons, books, manuals, etc. I am unable to locate. The rubber is all dried and cracked on the windshield. the 2 back windows look fairly straight forward with just rubber holding them in.

I have not opened up the doors yet to see how they work. the Windshield has me buffaloed. the metal trim and how it interacts with the rubber, which comes off first??? I'm just a wee bit lost and do not want to start prying on 75 year old glass, rubber and trim.

thanks for any advice / help

Tom

Windshield is a crank out frame, the chrome trim is the window frame surrounded by the rubber seal my deluxe chrome was so bad I painted it as a standard was. It hinges from the top and is attached to the frame and winder mechanism at the bottom. The door and quarter windows are a little more difficult. Zeke

The windshield frame has to be removed to disassemble the two halves top & bottom. Windshield rubber seals are available from diffeent suppliers. I don't know who has the best one though. It's been discussed on the forum before.

Look on Mac Vanpelt website for info on replacing glass, etc.
Lots of info that is helpful.
