Guys-Need to replace the rear window channels in my 38 Ford Standard Sedan-Can this be done with the windows in and are any special tools needed-Thx All

I just replaced the rear window glass in my 38 2 dr sedan. I assume you are talking about the side window guides. They can be a pain to get out. I think it would very difficult to remove them without removing the glass. To remove the glass you first should remove the inside window frame. Then you crank the glass almost all the way up. Then Remove the bolt that keeps the lever arms from raising to the full lift position. Now slide the glass toward the rear of the car. Now raise the glass to it's full lifted position. Now slide the glass back further to center the opening in the glass bed channel over the rollers. The glass can now be tilted inward and easily removed. To remove the side guides you simply straighten the bent tab on the bottom of the guide and drive straight up to remove. Note- your new reporduction channel may require rework prior to istallation. On mine I had to sand relief on the channel so that it could be slid back in at a slight angle.
