1938 Ford Big Truck color

Hi, I have a 1938 Ford Big Truck here in Norway that is going through a full restoration. I belive the right color on this truck is vineyard green. The ford code on this is: M1751, PPG code QDE740, IM1761 and Dupont: 93-3687, 225-31626. I have tried my paint suppliers here in Norway, but nobody can find this codes anymore. Do any of you have other(newer) codes I can use?

Try www.autocolorlibrary.com - they have lots of OEM colors dating that far back. There might be others out there but they don't come to mind right now.

Also, if you are a Early Ford V8 club member and get the V-8 Times magazine, check the back of the magazine for the "Car-espondence Shop Talk" experts. There is one for Heavy Commercial and one for Paint. They should be able to discuss correct colors and availability. If you don't have a V-8 Times copy, PM me and I'll send you the contact information for those two experts.

if you have a dupont jobber, ask him to get a "Dupont Historical Color Library" cd from his supplier, they have them whether they beleive it or not, it has most of the modern paint codes for the old colors. I have one and it cost me $10.00 us
