1937 pickup front motor mounts

Hi - having a little trouble figuring out a front motor mount issue - it looks like I have some rivits in the way of having a flat mounting surface. I am using a mount kit available through the normal suppliers. When I put the large washer into the large cup and set it on the crossmember it kicks up unlevel and I can't get the bolt to peek up through the hole. Any suggestions and pics/diagrams would be helpful and thank you.

your second picture shows a piece of metal that is riveted at the cross member and going forward to perhaps the radiator mount. My 37 and others I have seen don't have that, and have no rivets around the cross member hole that the engine mount sits on.

Perhaps you could drill two clearance holes in the large washer to clear the rivets?

Thanks for the responses. You've both confirmed what I suspected and a course of action. So I did that and now have this problem. What the hell is going on here?!! I cannot for the life of me get the motor mount stud to poke up through the hole!

Had that problem with my '47. All parts measured to mafch OE. So I took my small hydraulic jack, put wood blocks on the concrete floor, put the small head of the jack directly under the bolt head, and lowered the car/engine down onto the small jack head. That pushed the bolt up thru new rubber parts enough to start threading the nut on the vertical bolt. Obviously I did one side at a time.

The bottom rubber steps down at the top, and that stepped down dia should spigot up through the hole in the large washer. Does it? There are two different washers and bottom rubbers, with different hole/ spigot dias. You may have a mis-match? ie, a small hole version of the large washer, and a big dia spigot on the bottom rubber.
