This Model 826 Philco compact closed car radio has been refinished, rewired and all new capacitors installed and plays very well. It is smaller than the regular model 1440 Philco and easier to install with the speaker mounted in the radio box. It accepts the standard antenna plug.

In response to inquiries concerning the size of this Philco model 826 radio box is 8X9X6. The regular Philco 1440 is 11X8X6. I do not know the size of the Model 1440 internal speaker open car box but would think it would be even larger. keiththog@columbus.rr.com

wouls it work in a 36 pickup?

I don't think so as the remote tuning head fits in the 37 passenger car dash. I am not sure if there was a radio made specifically for the pickup.

is this a 6 volt radio? if so , can it be put in a positive ground auto , like a model a?
