1937 Ford Quick Spare Tire Question

Guy's, just a quick question. On a 1937 Ford car, what is the correct way ( the way Ford did it ) to lay the spare tire in the trunk? Does the front part of the wheel face up or down? I would assume the front part of the wheel would face down towards the floor so that the hold down bracket wouldn't scratch the wheel up. Thanks!

Don, on my car there is a hole in the wooden shelf over the tire which I would guess is to check the tire pressure without removing the tire. I put mine in white side up and the stem is in the center of the hole. Could be it dosen't belong there but is a good idea.
