I have a 1937 1 1/2 ton pickup with the 21 stud flathead in it. When I purchased it the ground from the engine to the firewall was on one of the cyl. head studs. I have not seen any other photos of this practice. Does anyone know the original or proper location for this ground strap.

Most of my old Fords have a ground from a head stud on the passenger side lower rear head stud or the one above the lower one to the firewall. If they didn't have one I added it. Clean the paint off the firewall and apply a little electrical grease. The battery ground is usually grounded at the same stud projection welded to the firewall. Use 2/0 battery cables on 6 volts with all good clean tight connections. If you feel heat on any battery connection or cable after cranking the cable is to small or the connections is loose or dirty. Check the green disconnect if useing one for heat. Over a period of time mostt of these fail. G.M.
