can anyone tell me that the main bearing thrust dimensions are on a standard main bearing, im looking for the thickness of the thrust flange on the bearing. Ive got a little excess clearance but the thrust surfaces look to be worn a little thin and wondering if a new set of bearing shells will take some of the endplay away.

Hi "fres", the distance from the outside surfaces of both flanges measures 2.251", the distance between the flange-walls on the inner sides measures 2.095".

If you subtract the second from the first and then divide by 2 you'll have the actual thrust wall thicknesses on the shells.

(Add) Just how much end play are you seeing?? I would try it with ONLY the lower shell in the main saddle first, then again with the cap/shell!

Thanks, Gary in N.Y.

P.S. Should yield about .078", give or take a few "tenths"!

ive got about .035 endplay and should be, from what i can find .01 to .015. . I miced the flanges on the cap half of the bearing shell and have.069 and .064 on flywheel side.

so i think i need to make about .025 or .030 overall. With dimensions you gave me it should put me back to around to where i need to be around .012 You think?
