Does anyone have a picture of the lock assembly used on the late "August" spart tire cover? The lock assembly removed from the cover. Will the lock assembly used in the more common spare tire cover fit in the late cover? See attached pics. The lock I have and a picture of a lock in the cover.

Don, petehoovie Thanks for responding. I have the parts in the diagram. They are parts from a pre August cover. What is not clear to me is, as can be seen in the picture of the late or August cover, the left 4 parts are not used. There is a hex spacer and a locking tab washer. I'm attempting to determine if the lock assembly, the right two components. are the same for both covers in spite of the hardware used to mount it.

The lock shown by itself is not the same as the lock in the cover. The lock in the cover has threads to accept the large nut shown and the tabs are bent up to prevent the lock from turning when you use the key.

That cover was used on early Standard 36 Fords and was discontinued late in 36 and all cars Deluxe and Standard had the Deluxe cover and spring type lock shown by Don Rogers.
