1936 rear drum not releasing

Could be seals leaking, or could be some one over greased the zerk fitting near the end of the housing. Ford later eliminated that zerk just for that reason.

I get all my brake shoes redone at Brake and equipment in Mpls Mn, perfect every time, will arc to your specs if you have an accurate way to measure. There are others, thats just who I have used for my whole life.

Allen, I have to say the puller you have is not like mine. Sorry for the confusing advice but glad you got it done with out damage to you or the car. Tim

now looking for brake shoes as passenger rears worn and soaked with oil.
any leads on where to get shoes re lined with woven pads? this is a 1936 with mechanical brakes.
awful lot of oil, not sure if grease seal is issue, possible an axle seal. Any way to make that determination?

Can you tell if the oil smells like gear lube as compared to grease? Might be one way to tell.
