1936 Pickup Door Lock

Curious if anyone might know if a passenger door lock cylinder was an option as my truck doesn’t have one.

Edited. Sorry my first reply was incorrect. This drivers side / passenger side lingo leads to incorrect answers as there are many on here like myself that have RHD early Fords.
My 36 pickup has. RIGHT HAND SIDE lock only. Cheers.

That is an interesting discovery. Since Ford was safety minded, only passenger side doors had locks up to 1949.

So, yours should have a lock on the passenger door..............unless you have a exported vehicle as KiWiUS mentioned.

Had nothing to do with Ford being safety minded. Had everything to do with laws in many states that required passengers to exit on the curb side of the vehicle. In Wisconsin, that law remains on the proverbial books.
Open your door into traffic and get it clipped off and you are at fault. My friend Tony, ripped a door off of a '18 Camaro a few years ago when the driver swung the door open as he was approaching. She had complained loudly that there was no way she could exit over the console, etc. Guess what? She got the ticket.
