1936 Ford steering gear

I'm putting together a pickup and am going through the steering gear at the moment and seem to have a few missing pieces. I need to know what parts go up through the bottom side for the switch mechanism. I have a spare column, but everything seems to be torn up on the bottom side for some reason. Does the horn rod go all to the bottom and latch into the switch mechanism? Or is there a separate tube assembly that goes up from the bottom that the horn rod slides into? How long is that bottom tube assembly? Can anyone provide photos of these parts so I know what to look for? The Van Pelt drawing do not provide enough detail to know what I need. Thanks.

1 pic is 33/34 and the other 37 out of the “Green Bible”. Should give you some idea. Rod all the way to the bottom for the switch.

So the rod I pulled out that was bent on the switch end, and broken off at the other was probably the horn rod then? The bottom end seemed to have a retaining clip on it, I thought the horn rod was a twist and lock unit?

36 is a one yr , I believe. 3597 tube crimp is a leak point. Some fellows silver solder that joint when cleaned. NW steering man is Greg E at 503-357-3980 Newc

I need to see what the 36 model year 3597 assy looks like so I know what to look for. I believe I have it, but it's bent on the end.

I got lucky and was able to salvage the tube assembly on the end. I was able to get it straight enough to slide the remains of the rod through it and it spins freely through it. I need to figure the best way to re seal it since the way it is it will definitely leak. The other task is going to be feeing up the column drop.
