Does anyone have any photos of the '35 or '36 Ford pickup seat riser and bottom seat spring and how they attach. I would like to see what the seat riser looks like. I have several parts of the seat riser, but do not know if I have all the required parts or not. I was wondering does the seat spring bottom sit directly on the metal seat riser or does it sit on a piece of wood that then sits on the metal seat riser.

My '36 seat has a plywood bottom that is hinged to the seat back. The riser has two steel nubs about 3/4" wide and high on either side in the front corners that allow the seat to move forward or back by three holes in the plywood. The inside of the riser is where I put the lug wrench and jack and stuff. If you have the gas tank there you have a truck cab. I will try to get a picture later. You should post a picture of what you have. If you look at the top of the page under Community you will find a social group for 35 and 36 pickups and many members have albums of there rides.

Bill, I posted three photos. THANK YOU for your information. Now it makes 100% sense to me what I need to do now. You can check out my three videos on You Tube if you want of my '36 Ford pickup that I am restoring. Google search 1936 ford pickup bruce smith and see videos. I love this old truck, have had it since 1966 and paid $350.00 for it. It sat for years and years in my Uncles barn because I was into flying airplanes all the time, not old cars and trucks. Times have changed, now I am land based, sold my planes (WW1 Fokker DR1 Triplane and others and hangar) so decided to restore this old pickup.

THANKS AGAIN, this Forum is GREAT because I just joined earlier today and already got two responses back. Happy Truckin.

What are you going to do for a gas filler neck? I noticed the left side of the bed has no hole.

Thanks for sharinmg your You Tube video. GREAT WORK on your '36 as well. I will have to trace around the filler neck then cut a clearance hole in the side of the bed. I don't know if you noticed, but I had my Distributor converted over to electronic ignition by Philbin Manufacturing in Portland, Oregon. I opted for the 12 Volt (one wire) Alternator, and was thinking of attaching the original cut-out switch to the top of the alternator for looks only.

Scott, last fall I was in Arlington Heights (around the end of September if I recall) They were having an antique car show across from the Library. Anyway, there was a fellow there who had a very nice '36 Pickup, neat to see. Mostly stock a few changes like tubular shocks, things like that. If you get a chance this year watch for their show he'll be there don't recall his name. Nice guy.

Looking for exact same thing. Picture of the wood is what i am desperately seeking. Can you help me please?
 
Go to post #2. The bottom seat springs fasten to the wood frame (pictured on the left) so the frames are part of the seat itself. Then the seat is set on the metal riser (see photo on the right) and is located by a short post on each front corner of the riser. These posts fit a series of 3 adjustment holes in the wood frame for some seat adjustment. The seat back is fastened to the seat bottom with a pair of hinges.

Hi Bruce, Wood frame on top of metal seat riser. Wood frame has two hinges so that when you lift up the piece of wood you have access to the area in the metal seat riser to store tools and such. Seat spring frame is bolted to the wood on top of seat riser. Sorry no pictures. hope this helps.
