can someone please tell me what in god's name is so taboo about a re-pop 36 grill? I have had it in a car and it fit fine?? People act like its made from metal forged from the devil himself? I don't get it. These things are $469 new from Macs

Most aftermarket 36 grilles I have come across do not have the same proportions as the originals.... there is just something a little off about them. They are made differently and often it is hard to fit the trim on them. I had a repop on my coupe and sold it to install an original. Most people would probably never notice, but to me it made a huge difference.

I only say this because you asked...

thank you so much for the input. I guess I can understand that. I have had re-pop fenders and other items that take a lot of re-working to get to fit right.

I bought a repop from BD and also found it to fit poorly. I had big gaps around the hood orniment when the hood was closed. And it seems that it was a bit longer than the original. My coupe is channeled and the first time I went over a speed bump I bottomed out on the grill and smashed the bottom flat. Found and installed an original and gained an inch or so in ground clearance.
