Nice start on a project or drive it like it is. I'm selling my 1936 Ford 5-Window Coupe to fund my Wife's 33 Roadster ...or maybe my 34 3W. Anyway this 36 Ford 5W is a car that I bought from a guy who was in the midde of a body-off resto and was unable to complete it.
The guy told me that this was a Utah car all of it's life and he was the 2nd owner. I have no way to prove it however. He had completely restored the chassis. New bushings, bearings, kingpins, shocks, wiring harness, rebuilt engine, carb, trans, rear axle ...the works. He also converted the brakes to Hyd and used the '39 pedal assembly. When it came time for the body, he stopped there. I hauled the rolling chassis, the body and all of the boxes of parts home.
I had planned to do a custom or maybe a 3W conversion on the car. After owning the project for a couple of years I thought I would just put the body back on, put the car back together and drive it until I could find the time to REALLY work on it. I put a Ford drop axle on the front and flatened the rear crossmember to get the car down a bit. I also put new window felt in the car.
I've drove the car for 3 summers. It has a clean Utah tittle. It needs all of the body work and interior done. The floors seem to be solid for the most part. There is a spot at the bottom of the right B-pillar that needs work. The body also shows evidence of an amature front quarter pannel patch job on both sides. I got the car in boxes, so some things I know are missing and other pieces I may not know about. I know the car is missing the right rear quarter window garnish, fuel gauge, oil gauge, window cranks and door handles.
I'll let the add stew here for a few days, then I'm going to put it on e-bay if no one wants it. PM me for my phone number.
