1936 Five Window Coupe Door Latches

I ahve a friend who purchased a 1936 5 window coupe. The door latches are shot. I can't find the same type from anybody, they all have open car latches. The pics show both the right and left latch assemblies. The connecting rod is curved on both sides. Can anybody help educate me on what I am looking for? Thanks, Skip

That is the pass side and quite a few in any given week on EBAY.Just switch the remote arm out.Make sure the dogleg spring is in place on the remote. The drivers side is a challenge to find. I used a RR 4 dr sedan which interchanges.PS the 35 uses the same latch. Or like Planojc says below,replace the springs if that is the problem..Check the triangular remote piece and see if the spring is there? The spring in your latch pictured appears okay.


Here is one on Ebay,pass side for you to compare with yours.I tried editing your pics but you need to take close ups.

I will get better pics. The problem is the holes the outside handle go into are rusted away. You can't open them from the outside. If you leave the windows down you can open with the inside handle. Thanks for the info I will be following up on ebay
