1935 Help

I need information on if there was a gasket between the spare tire mount casting and the body of the car? If so what was it made of paper or rubber? I have not seen anything for sale from any of the typical parts suppliers so I figured I would make my own.
Also the fender welt that comes in rolls is it suppose to be a soft pliable rubber, or a shiner stiffer rubber?
Thanks for the help

I have never found any gasket between the spare tire carrier bracket and the body on any 1935 ford I have taken apart. I do not believe that there was one. Mike

On two of my '35 sedans I have round fiber washers, at each mounting screw, between the body and the cast iron spare tire mount. These cars are both original.
