1935 grill trim clips

Does anyone have any tips or other secret methods of putting those awful little wire spring clips in the trim or do you have to slide every clip in from the end? I fought every one of them on my hood trim. I've squeezed and bent and tried all sorts of other things and thought I would see if there is a better way before I got too far on the grill trim.
Thanks for the help.

Just start sliding them in from the end. It's not that big of a job, if you have the right clips.

Grille trim clips slide in from the end of the trim. You can hold the clips in place by looping the trim with a piece of sewing thread and tying off the clip in position to keep it from sliding. Press the clip in the slot and then cut the thread with a razor blade

I am using the repop clips that come with the trim. Needless to say, they don't slide very easy in the trim even with a litttle silcone spray. I got them in using a pair of pliers and doing a lot of twisting and turning. Thanks for the suggestions. I've got the large trim installed, tomorrow the cross bars.

Bob I just did mine, got the clips from Mac's, I had to fight every inch of the way. Good luck. I hope there isn't an easy way.

I Just did not want to waite so I picked up some small machine screws shaved the head down a little slide them to their place worked from bottom up and locked down with the nuts that have built on lock washers. It's nice to have a surplus nuts and bolts store close by Happy Turkey

I also did the same thing (machine screws), with the strips on my grill and hood sides. The screws went in smoothly and hold the strips tight to the metal. They have been on there for more than 25 years and haven't come loose yet.
