Hello everyone. Did Ford start with a certain type lock cylinder, and then mid production start using another? Does anyone have pictures of the difference between cylinders? Thanks in advance for the help.
Thank you for the response and the pictures Mr. Rogers. I have another question for you. Did the 1935 column drop use the small diameter retaining pin for the lock cylinder, or did Ford switch to the larger pin? The reason I am asking is because someone had already removed the pin from the column drop I have and it looks like they "wallowed" it out. If it has been enlarged, could it be welded up and re-drilled? Thank you again for your help on this.
You could weld it up and start over or you could use a thread tap and use a small headless Allen head set screw to serve the same purpose which would be a lot easier to remove should the need ever arise.
The original pin and hole would have been small, so you could weld it up and redrill. I vote for David's solution of using an Allen head screw. That is what I do.
