looks like new reproduction steel bords are now available...I can't recall if it was Carpenter or Drake that had the "coming soon" on thier website for years at 850 a set (I think it was)...but these are cheaper and according to this vender Made in USA.

Heck, I've seen asking prices on original good RB's that still needed work, in the 500 and up range.

Now I just have to break into the Piggy Bank!

Thanks for sharing! I am on my way to Have some line-x work done and thinking about having my well used ones done and now I have another option.......

I have a couple of pairs of OEM boards that I have redone for my 35. I was going to either Linex or Rhino one set for everyday driver use and leave the gloss black ones hanging on the wall. I may do the same with my 37 and my 39...keep a painted set on the wall and put a durable coating on another set. The first person who gets into one of the old pickups with the nice fresh gloss black boards and turns their foot while getting in will mark up the gloss black boards.
It was Drake who advertised them for sale and then apparently did not make them.

My Dad was rel prticular about that too (scratching the boards) on his '40, he found some SS step plates that looked real presentable and bolted them on the boards.

He still always told me for yeras, whenenver I got in the truck "use the step".
