Hi all, this is a great site and I have learned allot. I am building my first street rod and have a couple of questions. I am building a 1935 Ford 5 window. The car has been on the road but currently is going thru a frame and suspension modification. The car is registered as a 36 ( that's how it was when I bought it). I like the looks of the 36 better so I want to switch out the front and rear sheet metal to a 36, has anyone done this? If so what are the things I should watch out for? I have collected many of the parts but my question is will the hood fit to the cowl and line up correctly? I noticed that the 35 has lace all the way around and the 36 has lace on the top and rubber stops on the side. I have the 35 cowl. Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, the '36 sheet metal will fit on the '35, however, there are many visual differences between the '35 & '36 cowl. Anyone that knows these cars will be able to tell at a glance that the cab is a '35, if that makes a difference to you.
Also, be aware that fenders from either year sedan will not fit the coupe.
