Does anyone know what parts and gears out of a 34 transmission will fit in a 35. I have a 35 car and a spare 34 transmission. If nothing will interchange, I may as well sell the 34 transmisssion. My 35 is any early car made betweeen march and april.

36 is when they changed from straight gears to helical gears and knocked the noise out of first gear. Sort of miss the noise in a way. NOT. lol

Some things to check , The arm and fork castings riveted onto the clutch shaft are different as is the casting that holds the throwout bearing and also the rear trans mount . There real problem is in the main drive gear , the cluster gear and the 2-3 syncro hub . 32-34 main drive gear teeth are .8125 wide and 35 is .845 wide . The big end of the clusters teeth are .667 wide for 32-34 and 35 is .727 wide . The syncro hub is 1.406 wide and 35 is 1.345 wide . The problem is when you use a 32-34 syncro hub with either of the 35 type gears . The extra width of the gears with longer front part of the 32-34 syncro hub usually causes  interference ,noise and improper engagement of the hub  If you use a 35 {narrower } syncro hub you don't have any problems using the gears from either ****** . Lawson is right - 36 did away with the wonderful growl . Major differences starting in 1936 . This info is in many publications . :D

The gearset out of a 34 will fit any floorship box up to 48. 39 up gear sets are more desirable. You have a good spare in case your current trans goes out.

David J is correct, there is a difference in the cluster gear and syncro hub, as well as the clutch release arm, between the 33-34 and the 35. The 34 transmission as a whole will fit and work in the 35 with the change in the release arm, and the gear set as a whole will work in the 35 case.

You can also install the later gears (up to 48) in the early case with the right tools. i did this two years ago in a 34 coupe. Made a world of difference.
