Hi guys, trying to help my uncle out with his Phaeton. He needs a new fuel line....I've be searching but all I can find are lines for 35 and above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

That shouldn't be a problem, as the same fuel line was used from 32-48, if you are referring to the line between the tank and the firewall. It is part number 18-9282, $18 at C&G (800/266-0470). If you are referring to the line between the fuel pump and the carb, the part number is 40-6369 if you want it pre bent with fittings, $16 at the same source.

The 32 to 35 fuel lines are different than 36 to 48. 32 to 35 used a "twin", line, small air line for the gauge and the larger line for the fuel. The later years with electric fuel gauges used only a single line. G.M.

G.M. is correct of course, but due to the cost, most reuse the air line. If you want the dual line for '34, the part number is 18-9289-B at C&G, a bit pricey, at $270. You will need to specify if it is for 4 or 8 cylinders. It must be specially made, so allow three weeks or more for delivery.

Roy Nacewicz sells the 34 fuel line and its an exact reproduction of the original with the small airline brazed to the fuel line.

I run 1/4 copper and 1/8 copper strapped together 30 years on one car and the same brazed on the other ,Ted

I'd be pretty leery of a '33-'34 fuel/air line with a '32 part number. The '32 lines are shorter than the '33-'34 lines be they for a four or eight.

I doubt if C&G makes the lines they sell. Likely they are made by Mike McKennett of Portland, OR who makes the ones that Roy sells and also sells them directly. In each case, Mike uses the original engineering drawings for his reproductions. They are, in a word, perfect, including their material (double wrapped copper-plated steel Bundy tubing as original).
