1934 40 Interiors Help

Hello everyone, I’m new to the site and new to 1930’s era Fords. We just recently inherited a partially restored 1934 Ford 40 Tudor. ‘Partially restored’ because the exterior and mechanics are 90% restored to match original, but the interior is a mess. I have steel bucket seat frames, the wood frame rear seat back, glass, and dash. But everything else has to be redone: rebuild/recover seats, head liner, side panels, etc.

The question for this group; how do you do this? Are there kits that you buy and do it yourself? Are there specialty auto interiors groups that do this? Will any auto interiors shop be able to handle this?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Sadly, there are no longer any reputable producers of kits.
A local trim shop may be willing to tackle this if they are willing.
I would suggest you ask around in your area as to what shop may be good for your needs.

For cars that had wood bases for the springs, there are some reproductions. Snyder's Antique Auto Parts got there start by making decent quality reproduction seat springs if you need those. The two main companies that used to make kits for the early Fords after the model A era are no longer in business and so far, no company has taken up that mantel. I have dabbled with other makes and models that never had a source for upholstery kits so I purchased my own used walking foot sewing machine years ago and learned how to keep it in good tune. I figured I could screw things up as good as anyone else after getting to know how to stitch things up. Materials can sometimes be a bear to find in patterns that fairly well replicate Ford materials. Fortunately for early Ford lovers, there are still sources for broad cloth that are pretty good. Classtique sells yard goods that would work. After WWII, things started to change a lot. SMS has been my only go to for some of the later materials but it can be hit and miss with them about actually getting the fabric to the customer. I was lucky i guess but I've heard the stories of customer disapointment with them.
