1933 water pump

I removed the water pumps on my '33 roadster to have them rebuilt, but I cannot remove the probe for the temp gauge from the water pump and don't want to tug on the sending line for fear of it breaking off the probe.. It is rusted into the pump. Any suggestions ?
 
Hold it in the vice or bolt it back on the head and hit the brass prob in the out let with a bit of wood ,
 
first off, you don,t have a 33 water pump. your discription is that of a 35-36. but you could soak it with oil or get it hot
