1933 Vicky fuel tank/sending unit

For my 70st birthday I purchased an older fully built 1933 ford Vicky out of Texas, I live in Ct. I have an issue with the fuel sending unit, believe the float has a leak. Before I attempt to drop the fuel tank, I'm looking for some help as to how to do it and to identify any hidden issues. My tanks filler pipe is located in the middle of the back end about 18 inches below the rear window. Behind the back rest of the rear seat is a small compartment where I can see the filler pipe straight from the outside going thru a shelf inside the car into the fuel tank. The is no access to the top of the tank from inside the car. Under the car, the tank is pretty close to the bottom of the shelve so I can not get a finger in to see how the filler pipe is connected to the tank.
From what I can find via the Internet there should be a rubber grommet or gasket between the filler pipe and tank that needs to be disconnected prior to dropping the tank. I guess I'll just drop the tank easy and see what I see.... Any help would great be appreciated..... Thanks. Rickmo

Rickmo,

You posted this in a section intended for questions to the editors. You need to move it to the Early V8 Forum. Be sure to include if your tank and sender is stock, which I suspect it might not be.
