I’m am finishing the final touches on a 1933 four cylinder car and am wondering about the hubs caps…….

Are the hub caps painted on the script and what color if so.

Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have a 33 Tudor that was a 4 . It came with hub caps, They were not painted. Hope this helps.:)

Were they reproductions where they saved money by passing the painting on to the buyer? I agree with post #2.

Even Bob Drake paints his (probably not a good reference for a restoration): https://www.bobdrake.com/ItemForm.a...Category=15766ddc-82ae-469f-af16-97c5dd4de1f7

To 1936ford: Do you have a copy of the Restoration Guidelines for your vehicle from the Early Ford V8 Club (earlyfordv8.org)? Be sure to use a primer from a professional auto paint store intended for polished surfaces.

Painted in Harding blue as described by deuce lover. There's a sign painter's One-Shot blue enamel that is a perfect match to the original color.

Merry Christmas to all. The car I referred to came from Canada, hub caps looked to be original. The car was a 4 standard. That is my story and I am sticking to it. Good luck! Art:)

I have a 1933 model b standard. Came with 3 original hubcaps.
Most blue paint is gone but you can see traces of where there definitely was blue paint. I bought two repro hubcaps from Bob Drake 25$ each one for the car and one from the spare They are beautiful.
Note I looked for original hubcaps and they were all beatup No Paint

My '33 coupe is Canadian and the original caps all had blue paint traces on them in the areas described above. My photo above is of a NOS cap.
