1933 Ford Standard Gray Window Moulding Paint Formula Code

I have what I believe is a 'late' 33, or early 34, standard sedan, much of it is very original, and the dash & garnish moldings seem to be original & in very good shape.
To 'muddy-the-water' here.... my dash & garnish moldings are what I would call satin black. I wouldn't call them grey, or, if they are grey, a very dark grey....
Sorry, I know this does not help the discussion. And, it makes me wonder, how many variations did Henry make ????
As for the 'formula', I don't have it. But, if I have the color you want, I have a very good & helpful PPG dealer that has a 'scanner', and I suspect that I could get him to come up with some data for you. (It would take me some time - he's not close by, and I go to him infrequently. I expect to see him within the next couple months - can't paint in the winter...)

:D Chuck , I don't have a paint code for you but if you have some gennie paint left on one of your parts you can color sand a spot with 1000 or 1200 grit paper to get to good paint and then buff and wax the spot and any GOOD body supply should be able to scan the spot and make you paint to match . Not as easy as giving them a paint code but this way will work as I have had good results when I've done it . They will give you the mixing formula if you request it . I would be interested in getting it if you go that way as my 33 std could use the same . Good luck :D David J

it identifies the gray molding color as PPG # IM1022 =Granite Gray
or PPG # IM1026 =tunis gray
Both say Molding colors

I suspect that it was the carryover paint used on the '32 standard mouldings, which Ford called 'interior gray'. I believe that Roy Nacewicz has the PPG formula for it. He can be reached at nertman@aol.com.
